Dentures for the elderly

It must be unbearable when one is not able to eat properly due to dental problems. When we age, many of us need support from dentures to facilitate the nutrition intake. But denture is not a cheap dental tool that everyone can afford and Thailand’s public insurance does not cover the cost of dental care.

The dental care procedure will be carried out by dentists from the Fort Wiphavadirangsit Hospital without charge for staffs.

Target beneficiaries:

30 elder people aged 60 years old and more, who are not eligible for dental health insurance, in Suratthani and nearby provinces.

Dental Procedures

1. Oral and dental health screening for patients aged 60 years old and more. Patients gums and soft tissues must be healthy and ready for new teeth.
2. Dental cast/mold making of the upper and lower gums.
3. Denture length and plane adjustment
4. Denture wax try-in
5. Selection of color and shape of teeth
6. Trial of final dentures
7. Denture wearing process
8. Follow-up visit with dentist after 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year respectively.
9. Final project report
