ที่มา/ความสำคัญโครงการ :
The Bookmobile is an initiate under the read for country’s development project of the Mirror Foundation. Its purpose is to offer opportunities to those who lack access to good books.
Mission of the Bookmobile is bringing good books together with volunteers on the move to targeted groups, which are people who rarely have access to books, such as slum communities, factory communities, and small schools. The project doesn’t just bring books to people, it also creates activities to stimulate people’s awareness of value of reading. Activities include arts for children, short films, music and street plays.
Intellectual development of human resources is deemed extremely significant to the country’s development to become healthy society. In particular, regarding the current innumerous social problems in every sector and every level of the society, it is necessary that the development be taken seriously and continually. Considering valuable lessons from the world’s leading developed countries, reading was used as the approach to create intellectual potentials of their citizens.
ประโยชน์ของโครงการ :
1.Increasing opportunities on access to good books to rea with families;
2.Offer opportunities to those who lack chances to join creative art activities aimed at stimulating their awareness of reading value, hence the love of reading and become networks for expansion of reading in communities;
3.Provide opportunities to the society to take parts in voluntary jobs, short and long-terms;
4.Create cooperation among people in the society in various spectrums, e.g. sharing good books, reading promotion volunteering, etc.
กิจกรรมที่จะดำเนินโครงการ :
-The “One-baht Book” activity for lower income earners to be able to buy good books, hence the love of reading and awareness of the book value;
-The Movie and Play Watching and art creating activity aimed at stimulating interest in reading sustainably;
-The Door Knocking activity to introduce good books to individual families.
