In Thailand, more than 1,500 blind kids are in the education sector. To learn like a normal student, an embossed picture is very important for learning in every subject. However, the equipment is difficult to use and not effective enough. As a result, blind students could not reach high quality in education.

Klongdinsor, a social enterprise, was aimed at developing instructional media and toys for children with disabilities and first lunched its product “LenSen (เล่นเส้น)” as a drawing kit for a blind kid.

This edition consists a pen made from rubber wood, using wool instead of ink. In addition, the tip of this pen is also attached a protected blade, like a dental floss cutter, for cutting the wool after drawing. This pen is used alongside a book attached a new version of Velcro, called East Tape and easy to stick wool to create a tactile line. With this quality, blind children can draw things on the book with an embossed line that they can trace during drawing.

After finishing, the wool can be either taken off or reused. Moreover, the pen also requires simple wool which is easy to find and cheap.

Klongdinsor developed this project alongside Faculty of Education, Suan Dusit Rajabhat University to effectively produce easy and cheap instructional media for a teacher and student to use.

The drawing kit can be used in two ways:

1. For an artistic objective, a blind kid can draw a picture and get inspired.

2. For an academics objective, the drawing kit will be used in mathematics such as geometry and graph or science such as physic.

The drawing kit requires two months for production and will be ready for a new semester.
