While large amounts of food are discarded every day, many people in vulnerable communities still lack access to sufficient meals. The core issue is not food scarcity, but the fact that food does not reach those who need it. This challenge is especially critical as food distribution relies on refrigerated trucks to maintain quality and safety. However, rising fuel costs have become a significant barrier to sustaining these operations.

This project aims to raise funds to support fuel costs, ensuring the continued operation of refrigerated vehicles and the uninterrupted delivery of surplus food from source to destination, reaching over 6,623 communities across Thailand. Quantitatively, the project helps sustain the delivery of thousands of meals per day. Qualitatively, it ensures that vulnerable communities continue to access safe and nutritious food, reduces food insecurity, and enables people’s lives to carry on without disruption.

Social issues

Thailand continues to face the challenge of food surplus, while many communities—especially vulnerable groups—still lack access to adequate meals. The key issue is not the availability of food, but access. Food distribution relies on a cold chain system to ensure quality and safety. However, the continuous rise in fuel prices has significantly increased the operational costs of food transportation, putting the ability to maintain delivery routes and distribution capacity at risk. Without adequate support, large amounts of food may not reach those in need in time, and many communities may face even greater food insecurity.

Approaches to addressing issues

  1. This project addresses food access challenges among vulnerable communities by rescuing surplus food from source locations and redistributing it through a temperature-controlled cold chain system to ensure quality and safety. The funds raised will support fuel costs, enabling refrigerated vehicles to operate continuously without reducing service frequency. This approach has already been proven effective, delivering thousands of meals per day, reducing food waste, and ensuring consistent access to food for communities in need. What sets this project apart is its standardized logistics and management system, which allows for the safe and efficient distribution of both fresh and cooked food at scale. Rather than providing one-time assistance, the project establishes a sustainable and reliable food access system.

Operational Plan

  1. Apr - Jul 2569

Allocate the fuel budget to refrigerated vehicles in key operational areas to maintain existing delivery routes without reducing frequency, while coordinating with source partners and destination communities to ensure the continuous collection and distribution of food.

  2. May - Jun 2569

Continue the collection and distribution of food while maintaining quality through a cold chain system, and monitor key metrics—including the volume of food redistributed, number of meals provided, and number of beneficiary communities—to evaluate operational effectiveness.

  3. Jun - Jul 2569

Summarize both quantitative and qualitative results, including the number of meals delivered, the number of communities reached, and the impact on beneficiaries’ quality of life. Prepare reports to communicate outcomes to supporters and inform planning for the next phase of operations.
