Context: Khur Buri School for Children and Family Life Project
Children and youth growing up in a socio-economic environment marked by high unemployment often experience parental neglect or absence. The children in the Sa Kae Ngam community, Khur Buri District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, are primarily a vulnerable group coming from impoverished backgrounds and experiencing family issues.
Issues include parental divorce, domestic violence, or being raised by grandparents. This lack of love and care leads to problems in several areas:

The Khur Buri School for Children and Family Life Project was therefore established through a collaboration between the CBN Thailand Foundation (The Christian Broadcasting Network) and Khur Buri Church. Its goal is to strengthen the development of children and families for a better quality of life through after-school activities, enhancing social life skills, and ethical learning, among others.

Khon Buri School for Children and Family Life: Solution Focus The Khur Buri School for Children and Family Life focuses on providing after-school activities to develop children's abilities and create a safe space for them. Key activities include: Skill Development and Safety: Offering activities like homework assistance (tutoring), arts, music, sports, and cooking classes to enhance children's skills and teach them life skills and social coexistence. -Provision of Essentials: Supplying necessary educational materials to children. -Nutritional Support: Providing nutritious and balanced meals and drinks. -Ethical Education: Promoting moral and ethical learning through the Superbook curriculum of the CBN Thailand Foundation. The overall goal is to help children grow up in a healthy environment and have a safe space.
Operational Plan
After-School Activities (3 days/week): Conducting activities like homework assistance (tutoring), arts, music, sports, cooking, and ethics lessons. This includes providing meals and drinks during each session. If funding is sufficient, children receive full, nutritious, and balanced meals.
Educational Equipment Support: Providing essential educational supplies (not cash), such as school uniforms, school bags, stationery, and bicycles for commuting to school.
Educational Field Trips: Organizing group field trips and outdoor learning activities with parents. This promotes broad learning dimensions, such as letting rural children experience city life, practicing social skills, and providing the opportunity to swim (as many lack these experiences), thereby developing children physically, mentally, and socially.
Vocational and Family Support: Promoting vocational skills/careers for parents and families to improve their quality of life, which in turn allows them to spend more quality time with their children.
Family Relationship Promotion: Strengthening relationships between children and their families through visits, counseling on child-rearing for parents, and organizing family bonding activities.
