Through the unrest of Thai southern border provinces, a lot of violence and riots have frequently happened over the last ten years.

Because of the problems in Thai southern border provinces, people have lost lives, property, and opportunity for living. Khun Orauma Thanee, who has been affected from this unrest, said:“One day, I brought my stuffs for sell at the market. At 6 PM. a male stranger droped my son, and my son said that my husband had been shot while driving hit a tree. I went there and found that my husband had been dead.” This tragic event was her big lost. Furthermore, her husband, father, was being shot by a terrorist in front of his 3 inocent children. Even though she has suffered from this tragic event, she has been moving forward for her three kids.

 

Because oftheunrestinThai southern border provinces, women have turned their roles to become a leader of their families. They need to find a secured jobs to suport their families and take care their children suffering from this unrest. 

 

Now, KhunOrnumaThanee is the president of the Zauguna Chili Sauce, meaning Our Taste. Thegroup, was formed by women who had been affected by the unrest and suffered from poverty in 2552, has 19 members. This group was aimed at selecting material and food processing to add more value into products such as coco (nut) cashew nut and dried shrimp. In addition, there are a lot of main products such as chili sauce and Miangkham - which has received the standard from the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand and been submitting to receive the Halal Standard in order to expand its market in other countries and create more jobs.
