Helping people with leg disabilities to get back to their normal life is by using prosthesis. But the prosthesis access is still very limited, especially the cost is quite high. The prosthesis is also last for only 2-3 years, then it will start to deteriorated by operating conditions and will need reconditioning for longer use. So using prosthesis of disabled with low income is difficult or may even have to wait for some opportunity from the government agency.

Klong Yai District in Trat Province is another small area that there are people with disabled legs due to trap mines in the boundary between Thailand and Cambodia. Most of the population is poor. Prosthesis that are used, is longer than 10 years, lacked of repairing and reconditioning to their thighs. These cause injuries, side effect pain or even damp smelly.

“Help the Helpers” collaborated with “Thai with Disability Foundation” and “Khlong Yai Hospital” to surveyed data of the population that are disabled and suffered with their old prosthetic legs ,and gave opportunities for disabled people to register with the hospital to obtain new prosthetic legs. They also have initiated the "new step” project since 2013, and have delivered a total of 7 new prosthetic legs.

For this year, 2014 , the hospital has been collected data of 9 disabled in Klong Yai District, with the schedule to delivery prosthetic legs to them within May 31, 2014.
