Eat… drink… party… we get caught up in living it up in the present moment. We can’t deny that we spend money – whether a little or a lot – to buy happiness through activities that we enjoy, and that we do this frequently.
But what if we asked ourselves this potentially important question?
What can we do to make both ourselves and others in society happy, despite differing circumstances and conditions? If we were able to spend our money on a variety of pleasures that create happiness in the moment for ourselves, and at the same time, that also improve the quality of life for others, would we not want to do this?
Socialgiver is a startup social enterprise that invites everyone to reflect on our social responsibilities and to participate in creating a better society via the activities that we engage in in our daily lives already… and in doing so, demonstrating that doing good is not the hard or far-off or boring thing that it’s easy to believe it to be.
We have already achieved great success with our fundraising events entitled, ‘Drink for the Philippines’ and ‘Survivor Saladeng’, which raised more than 100,000 baht. Those parties were more than merely fun; they also brought out good vibes in the people who attended. Attendees and donors became givers who contributed to society and receivers who got a great party and more knowledge about social problems and who made some new friends.
For this fundraising round, our goal is to organize 4 fun and innovative events with the purpose of funding 4 social projects and turning party guests into givers. Charity parties give everyone the opportunity to celebrate together and raise money for worthy causes at the same time.
