A Kli Tie Lang village is located between amphoe Srisawat and amphoe Thongpaphum in Kanchanaburi province, where 399 Pwo Karen people in 136 households have lived and used only one creek for agricultural farming and livestock farming.

In 1998, toxic lead was released to the creek, which caused numerous deaths in human and animals. Consequently, the Supreme Court ordered an official unit to revive the creek, but the process took many years. So today, villagers do not have access to clean water source, nether from the still polluted creek nor municipal pipe waterworks which does not reach the village.

Because of this situation, we started the Mountain Waterworks project in a Kli Tie Lang village by using a village fund with some contribution from villagers themselves. Today the project is the final phase of installing waterworks. After we get it done, every household will have access to clean water.

We just finished installing the last water tank in September 2014, and now villagers are prepared to buy a waterworks pipeline and other equipment but we do not have enough money. So, we need your help to support villagers to have access to clean, lead-free water.

กิจกรรมที่จะดำเนินโครงการ :

Build mountain waterworks in three areas: connecting clean natural water source in Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary mountain ridge to three water tanks in the village.

1.North (KL1): a pipeline will be installed from water source in Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary to a water tank in the north of village (20 households) (Already have built a water tank and waterworks fence but need to buy a pipeline and other equipment to build mountain waterworks.)
2.Center (KL2): a pipeline will be installed from water source to a water tank in the center of the village, passing a monk village, children center, kindergarten, and 20 households. (Finished)
3.End of Village (KL3): a pipeline will be installed from water source to a water tank in the end of the village (45 households) (Finished)

Quality – 95% of the people in this community can access clean water without lead
