The Forest Ranger Fund started after khun Seub Nakhasothien realized the necessity of safety and welfare for low rank officers and hired workers who work hard to protect forests which are houses of trees, source of fresh air and water of rivers that run to cities. These are all important resources for everyone in Thailand.
An office of all rangers is a forest where they have to patrol. These rangers are very tired working in remote areas, have great difficulty in life, and often be in dangerous situations from people who want to get benefits from natural resources. Sometimes rangers get harmed or die from fighting. In addition, each lost of life affects not only a ranger himself but also his family.
Seub Nakhasathien's will is meant to help and give comfort to forest and wildlife rangers working all over Thailand. So when some unexpected incidents happen such as injury or death, their families will not have much trouble.
Over 24 years (1990-2014), the Forest Ranger Fund under the Sueb Nakhasathien foundation, has supported and helped 69 harmed rangers, families of 76 rangers who died during operations, 52 kids (rangers’ children) to get college degrees. The total contributed sum is more than 6 million baht.
With these reasons, we want to raise more money to help families of rangers and give them morale and comfort.
