Cancer is one of the world’s most serious health problems and remains the leading cause of death among Thais. Most patients who succumb to the disease still lack adequate knowledge and understanding about cancer and proper self-care.
According to surveys, 91.74% of cancer patients who used the Cancer Conquering Notebook reported better understanding of their illness, enabling them to plan and monitor their treatment more systematically. Likewise, healthcare professionals found the notebook to be a useful tool supporting their work, and in emergency cases, it can also serve as a patient referral record.
In 2022, we distributed the first revised edition of the Suvivor Planner — 20,000 copies across 34 participating hospitals.

Social issues
Cancer has been the number one cause of death in Thailand for ten consecutive years. Each year, approximately 140,000 Thais are diagnosed with cancer, and around 84,000 people die from the disease (according to data from the Ministry of Public Health, 2024).
After being diagnosed, many cancer patients often experience shock, fear, and hopelessness, which can worsen their condition or even cause them to avoid treatment, leading to disease progression.
Moreover, a large number of patients lack proper knowledge and understanding of how to cope with cancer. Many also hold misconceptions and false beliefs about the disease and its treatments — factors that significantly affect both treatment outcomes and survival rates.
Approaches to addressing issues
Research has shown that the more cancer patients understand their condition and treatment plan, the better they can cope with the disease. The Suvivor Planner was therefore specially designed for cancer patients as a “companion who truly understands” every step of their treatment journey. It has been endorsed by medical experts as a valuable tool to help patients manage their illness correctly and communicate more effectively with caregivers and healthcare professionals. The notebook was co-created from real patient experiences, featuring practical functions, user guidance, and knowledge contributed by medical specialists and experts. It serves three key purposes: 1. To create a practical tool for recording treatment details and to serve as a comprehensive self-care guide — addressing both the physical and emotional well-being of cancer patients. 2. To help patients cope properly with cancer, enhance their quality of life, and improve survival rates. 3. To provide knowledge, encouragement, and positive energy, while fostering a support group — “An Understanding Companion” — that allows patients and caregivers to share experiences and support one another throughout the journey.

อาร์ต ฟอร์ แคนเซอร์ บาย ไอรีล ภายใต้บริษัท อาร์ต ออฟ ไลฟ์ วิสาหกิจเพื่อสังคม จำกัด ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี 2560 โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ในการนำศิลปะเข้ามาดำเนินกิจกรรมเชิงสร้างสรรค์โดยเรามุ่งเน้นการช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยมะเร็งใน 3 ด้าน ได้แก่1. การส่งเสริมกำลังใจผ่านโครงการและกิจกรรมต่างๆ เช่น โครงการก้าวข้ามมะเร็ง,โครงการบันทึกพิชิตมะเร็ง เป็นต้น 2. ด้านทุนทรัพย์ ผ่าน 4 มูลนิธิของโรงพยาบาลรัฐ อาทิ สถาบันมะเร็งแห่งชาติ,ศิริราชมูลนิธิ,มูลนิธิรามาธิบดีและรพ.จุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย (ร่วมกับคุณก้อย รัชวินทร์) 3. ด้านความรู้ที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับโรคมะเร็งร่วมกับแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ผ่านงานเสวนาและรายการ Cancer Talk เป็นต้นในปี 2563 ที่ผ่านมาได้ดำเนินกิจกรรม “โครงการก้าวข้ามมะเร็ง” ในรูปแบบการจัดทำสื่อความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคมะเร็งทั้งในรูปแบบออนไลน์ผ่านสื่อวิดีโอแชร์ประสบการณ์จากผู้ป่วยมะเร็ง ในรูปแบบสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ในนาม "ชุดยากำลังใจ" ให้แก่ผู้ป่วยมะเร็งจำนวน 10,000 รายทั่วประเทศผ่านจุดแจกจ่าย 20 โรงพยาบาลรัฐและมีผู้ดูแลรวมถึงบุคคลทั่วไปที่สนใจมากกว่า 1,179,061 คนที่เข้าถึงข้อมูลความรู้ของโครงการโดยในครั้งนั้นได้รับความสนับสนุนจากทางภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาชนผลตอบรับที่ได้ในครั้งนั้นคือผู้ป่วยได้รับความรู้ ความเข้าใจ รวมถึงกำลังใจที่ดี ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่ทางอาร์ต ฟอร์ แคนเซอร์ บาย ไอรีลได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญในการผลักดันให้ผู้ป่วยมีกำลังใจที่ดีควบคู่กับการรักษาอย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม อีกทั้งยังส่งผลให้ผู้ป่วยมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดียิ่งขึ้น
