Fund to Stabilize Homeless People at Baan Tueam Fun

Baan Tueam Fun was established in 2017 with government support to create a Rehabilitation and Capacity Development Center for Homeless People.
Its goal is to provide shelter for those who wish to have a home while helping them develop life skills and reintegrate into society.

Since the beginning of this year, 50 homeless individuals have stayed at Baan Tueam Fun. Among them, 20 people have already moved out—some have been able to rent a place of their own, while others have relocated elsewhere.

Residents can stay for free for the first 10 days, after which they are asked to contribute 25 THB per day toward utility costs. They are also expected to take care of themselves and be responsible for their daily needs.

However, many new residents have no income to cover living expenses such as food or transportation to look for work. If they are unable to find a job within 10 days, they cannot contribute to utility costs, which limits their opportunity to improve other aspects of their quality of life.
On average, 3–5 new residents each month face this challenge and cannot support themselves financially.

Therefore, we are raising funds to help 30 individuals who need support to stabilize their lives and get back on their feet.

Ms. Swean Saen-Iew came to Baan Tueam Fun during the COVID-19 pandemic after losing her job at a restaurant and being unable to pay rent. Having a safe place to stay at Baan Tueam Fun allowed her to rebuild her life. Today, she runs a small grocery shop near the Baan Tueam Fun center, sustaining herself independently.
