Helping Hands Thailand aims to be a part of assisting vulnerable groups, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and bedridden patients, in the best way possible across communities throughout Thailand. We will provide essential medical supplies for patient care, as well as survival kits for bedridden patients, to improve the quality of life for both the patients and their families. The project will be carried out over a period of one year, with a goal of donating to 655 families. The criteria for assistance are based on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and bedridden patients. Assistance may come from those who contact us directly, or we may reach out to help through the community leaders. The project is coordinated by Ms. Kanokkan Phrachat, under the supervision of Mr. Lukpetch Kamalas Nielsen, the project owner. Over the past year, we have dedicated time and effort to help these vulnerable groups and have carried out the project in various areas across Thailand.

Social issues

As Thai society transitions into an aging society, the population of elderly people has significantly increased. This group is facing health deterioration. In addition to the elderly, there are also people with disabilities and bedridden patients, who are vulnerable groups that require assistance in accessing effective care.

Approaches to addressing issues

  1. Prepare relief kits, survival kits, and provide essential equipment for the elderly, people with disabilities, and bedridden patients in communities across the country.

Project manager

Helping Hands Thailand is the volunteer group of COVID Thailand Aid, which devoted time and energy to helping vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused serious health and economic crisis across the world, including Thailand. From our field visits to help vulnerable groups in communities across the country, we have found that there are still many elderly, disabled, and bedridden patients, who are vulnerable groups that are still struggling and need a lot of help. They require materials and equipment for patient care. Helping Hands Thailand focuses on helping vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, disabled, and bedridden patients, as well as their families, across the country, so that these groups of people can have a better quality of life. 1. We use all donations to help people and do not use them as volunteer salaries. 2. Our work involves contacting community leaders or individuals to ask about essential items or specific items that are urgently needed, so that we can allocate those items to them as appropriate. 3. We help many vulnerable groups, not just one. 4. We distribute assistance to vulnerable groups across the country. 5. We are a small and flexible group that is able to quickly deliver assistance to communities and directly to patients. We provide assistance to the elderly, disabled, and bedridden patients. Across Thailand, even in areas that are difficult to access, we go everywhere when help is needed.
