Donations for the project will support the annual operating costs to Ethnic-minority children, aged 2–6 years for2learning center
Children living in hill tribe communities often face language barriers and have to be separated from their parents when they attend schools in town. To bridge families and schools and to prepare children with language skills and basic learning foundations, the Bookworm Foundation operates two early childhood literacy centres: Sunshine Kids Centre and Little Smiles Centre.
In collaboration with the Chachoengsao Provincial Healthy Cycling Club, the “Bookworm Bike Ride 2025” campaign will run from 16–27 December 2025 to raise funds for lunch programme, learning materials and the annual operating costs of both learning centres, so they can continue to operate sustainably.
Access to school: Many children live in small communities without schools. For instance, Sunshine Kids Centre is located in Sip Lang Village, which is about a 1–2 hour drive away from the nearest school.
To reduce language barriers, improve access to education and address funding shortages, the donated funds will be managed over the course of one year to support the early-childhood centres and the ethnic-minority children they serve. The funding will provide: * Nutritious lunches and snacks: Insure children have the energy they need to learn. * Learning materials and teaching resources: Strengthen language development and overall learning. * Repairs and upgrades to the centres: Create safe and appropriate learning environments. * Staff remuneration: Enable stable and consistent quality care.

The Bookworm Foundation (BWF) is a non-profit organisation based in Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. We promote the joy of reading and learning through various activities for all members of the community, including children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Our organisation was officially registered as a foundation under the Thai law in 2018. Our main objectives are as follows: ● To promote the joy of reading ● To provide equal reading opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds ● To use books as a bridge between vulnerable groups and mainstream society ● To enhance the quality of life for ethnic communities, particularly through literacy development Currently, the Bookworm Foundation runs three key programmes: • Library Programme: We promote the joy of reading through the Rang Mai Library and operate a mobile library service for individuals and groups of all ages. The mobile library visits schools, kindergartens, and children's care homes over 100 times a year, providing library services to ensure that everyone, especially children, has the opportunity to enjoy reading. • Early Childhood Literacy Programme: We teach the Thai and English alphabets as well as numbers to ethnic minority children, better preparing them for enrolment in the mainstream Thai education system. We currently run two early childhood centres, Sunshine Kids Centre and Little Smiles Centre, where 25 children aged 2 to 6 years old from the Akha, Lahu, Lisu, and Shan communities are enrolled. • Sapa Stories Programme: "Sapa" in Northern Thai means "many." Through this programme, we run projects that engage various sectors of society, as we believe that diversity is a source of beauty. We are currently running a project called "One Book in the World," where children create their own picture books. This initiative aims to nurture a love of reading and helps children develop their creativity and imagination.
