Social issues

Do you know that...

On average, a cat lives for about 15 years and can start having offspring at the age of 1. Each year, a cat can have 2-3 litters, and each litter may consist of 2-8 kittens. If you do the math, one cat can potentially have up to 100 kittens at once. In addition to the challenges of overpopulation, homeless cats face dangers such as being hit by cars, attacked by larger animals, or subjected to abuse by humans.

Let's join together to break the cycle of stray cats with the spaying/neutering project.

While some may see spaying/neutering as causing pain to cats, in reality, it helps alleviate the suffering of stray cats in various ways.

Benefits of the Activity:

  • Spaying/neutering 200 cats per event can prevent the reproduction of up to 20,000 cats.
  • Protects cats and humans from the risk of rabies transmitted through cat bites.
  • Fosters a compassionate community where people feel more inclined to help stray cats. If you come across an injured or distressed cat, you can seek assistance from the project for medical care.

Preparation for Cats Before Spaying/Neutering:

  • Cats should be at least 5 months old and weigh around 2 kilograms or more.
  • Cats must be in good health and not currently ill.
  • Female cats should not be pregnant or mated within the past 2 weeks.
  • Cats should fast for at least 8-12 hours before the procedure.

Benefits of Spaying for Male Cats:

  • Reduces the risk of testicular cancer and hormonal-related behavioral issues as they age.
  • Decreases aggressive behavior and minimizes the tendency to mate with other male cats.
  • Lowers the chances of spreading dangerous infections through mating.

Benefits of Spaying for Female Cats:

  • Prevents complications such as uterine infections and the risk of developing breast cancer as they age.
  • Spayed cats tend to live longer than those that are not spayed.
  • Minimizes the likelihood of infections or cancers in reproductive organs, reducing the strong odor of urine.

You can contribute by:

  • Participating in various activities, such as spaying/neutering events, taking care of recovering cats, finding homes for cats, or assisting in transporting supplies.
  • Donating funds for medical treatments and spaying/neutering. Every donation helps make a difference in the lives of stray cats.

Let's come together to create a better future for stray cats and our community.

Approaches to addressing issues

  1. Assistance in providing medical care for a stray cat case.

  2. Organizing a stray cat neutering campaign to mitigate the stray cat population issue.

Operational Plan

  1. Sterilization campaigns are conducted 3-4 times a month, neutering approximately 200 cats per session

  2. After completing the sterilization process, we have staff dedicated to cleaning up after the neutered cats. For cats requiring emergency care at the shelter, we promptly administer necessary treatments. Each sterilization session is equipped with oxygen tanks and various special medications for basic feline healthcare.
