Local Aroi

Local Aroi together with Local Alike (a social enterprise focusing on eco-tourism) and a renowned Thai Chef, Khun Book (Boonsmith Phukganasuk) who is known for his mouth-watering fusion dishes and Food TV programs, proudly create a new fine-dining experience which brings original indigenous menus to your table.

Experience of Local Alike showed us that countless local delicious Thai food remain unknown to many including the Thai people themselves. Therefore, the idea of Local Aroi has sparked.

Behind every dish is a rich culture. Local believes that allowing diners to taste the local flavours is a mean of cultural preservation. Our principle is that: the income must be generated to local communities. Therefore representatives from participating communities will be actively involved.

Partnering local communities:

Pha Mee Comminuty, Chiang Rai province: here is home to Akha hill tribe people. The forest provides nutritious ingredients to Akha people – it is Hom Chuu, a type of garlic chive which is used in many mouth-watering menus of Akha people.

Prom Lok Community, Nakhonsrithammasat province: here is where you find Thailand’s top quality Mangosteen – the queen of Thai fruits. Local menu here is also second to none.

Association of Children and Youth for the Peace in the Southernmost Provinces of Thailand (Lukrieng Group): beyond the beach and the sea, there are also delicious seafood menu which is a local gem.

Khok Muang Community, Burirum province: volcanic soil here has made Burirum province one of the most fertile lands for agriculture. Volcanic from Burirum province has a unique sweet taste and wonderful aroma.

Koh Klang Community, Krabi province: the place is known for its local Sang-Yod rice which has a unique aroma and a mouthful texture.  

Local chef from 5-10 partnering communities will be cooking together with Chef Book. All Local Alike donors will get a chance to taste local menus and to participate in the presentation of local communities.

Community, date and time will can be selected based on your interest. (please inform us in advance if you have children or elder people coming with you)
