Go further with education (Hai Pai Tor)

“The lower the education, the higher chance of poverty.” This saying proves itself right. The poverty study conducted in 2019 by the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council and UNICEF reveals that about 22% of the children in Thailand are living under the poverty line. Most of these children are from the north-eastern region, followed by the northern, the southern and the central regions. However, when looking at income per household among those living under the poverty line, underprivileged children in the northern and southern regions are facing more extreme poverty than their peers from other regions. Another study also reveals that children with poverty often have uneducated or not well-educated parents.

26 years of Yuvabadhana Foundation’s works always focus on providing opportunities for better and higher education. Since 1993 the Yuvabadhana Foundation has begun its scholarship program. As of September 2019, there are about 8,541 scholars under the support of Yuvabadhana Foundation of which 6,100 scholars have already celebrated their high-school education or equivalent.

But countless of underprivileged children and youths are hoping for a better chance! Countless of them are dreaming of studying further in the secondary and high-schools. Countless of them do not want to leave schools to work at this young age… Without experiences, without good education, it will be a big challenge for them to climb up above the poverty line.

Hai Pai Tor Project is offering you a chance to create a better society through education for those in need. 410 students (5 students per 1 school) who are living under poverty line (average household income less than 3,000 Baht or 100 USD/month/person)  

Our wish is that these children can further study… Because education is the best investment for the future.

Information about the scholarship

Scholarship program is managed by the Yuvabadhana Foundation in partnership with 82 schools in 30 provinces nationwide). All raised funds will be given to underprivileged students. Each scholarship is worth 7,000 Baht which can supports one year of education.

Scholar screening procedure

• Agreement and support from children/youths’ families in the importance of education (high-school level or Grade 12 or equivalent)  
• Children or youths must come from a family with an average household income lower than 3,000 baht or 100 USD/month/person)
