Teaching Budget For Thais Local Students to become Dive Master
The budget for teaching 10 Thais students to become Dive Master and have access to this new job opportunity and sustainability sea resource in Thailand.

Thailand have so many dives sites and sea and the income for diving business is about 4,000 – 5,000 million baht but all this market is going to foreigners 95 % (information : Thansettakij newspaper)
We can change that now!! by giving the opportunity for the next generations of Thais people. In the future, with the knowledge and all information, the business of diving will be more equal foreigners/Thais.
Mr.Sacha Ulmer , 15 years in the diving business in Thailand. What he was seeing is the Marine tourism, the diving activity and the dive business has a few Thais who operates or work in and the reason of it, it’s because diving cost are expensive for Thai National.
So why “Diving industry THAIS can do it” is happening. This project give the chance and very good opportunity for the Thai national to work in the diving business.
Our plan
- choose 10 students from the tourism, sports science branch and all general students, 1 students per university, total 10 students
- they will make diving internship and study 5 diving courses for 4 months
1.Open Water Diver
2.Advanced Open Water Diver
3.Emergency First Response
4.Rescue Diver
5.Dive master
Normally the price for 5 courses are +/-120,400 Bath per person but we will pay for other cost such as instructor, assistant instructor, diving equipment, accommodation and the process when we choose the 10 students. So we would ask for a donation of 120,000 Baht.
For the cost of gasoline’s speed boat and captain.
Remark : the cost pay by students
- Electricity charge for 2 rooms 4 months around 4,000 Baht. Divide for 10 students
- PADI certification for 5 courses is 14,600 Baht. per students
Rescue Diver Courses in the sea
Our project is to learn to Thai to become Dive Master, Why?
For 3 reasons:
1. There are a lot of foreigners who are working in Thailand, and are working without a work permit, +/-80% and then Thai governments are losing on tax.
2. There is not enough local Thai people working in the diving industry.
3. Thai National are missing on these jobs opportunities.
Our project doesn’t say we have to push foreigner out from Thailand!!! But we just want to give this opportunity for the Thais who want to work in this job. When we can have enough Thais to work, it will be very useful for the dive shop owner to find Thai professional divers to work in, without the work permit problem with foreigner.
ประโยชน์ของโครงการ :
1. We can created more jobs in the diving industry for the new Thais generation (+/- 80%)
2. The government can have more money from income tax (Thailand losing tax because many foreigner working without work permit so they don’t pay any tax )
3. Education to develop students to be more professional to support what the costumer want in the tourism industry
4. Thai professional divers will be responsible for the sea : because they use the sea for income so they will don't want to loose the sea and protect the sea more for more income
กิจกรรมที่จะดำเนินโครงการ :
Step 1 : November 2015 , students who are interested on it, presenting “If you are a certified Dive Master, what will be your job and How to do it ?” Sending via facebook www.facebook.com/BangkokSeaEvents or bangkokseaevents2012@gmail.com
Step 2 : Begin of December 2015, we choose 20 students for test skill about Dive Master internship
Place: swimming pool at Bangkok or perimeter (identified later)
- Fill document about their health
- Test swimming skills 200 meters, unlimited style , unlimited time
- Interview English skill by Mr.Sacha Ulmer
- Interview about service mind and Loving the sea via taking on their experience
Step 3: Middle of December 2015, we choose 10 students who can make Diving internship to become Dive Master
Property of trainee
- During study at university of Bachelor and the internship can be made from January 12, 2016 - On May 12, 2016 continuous period of 4 months.
- Want to become Dive Master to use it for working (not just for fun )
- Good heath, don’t sick about ears , Respiratory system, lungs, heart and pressure
- Good swimming skill
- Good English communication
- Like service job, love the sea and can work on the sea area
Fill the scuba tank , repair diving equipments and take care the boat
