Restore schools having been affected by the earthquake in Chiang Rai

The 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Chiang Rai on 5th May severely ruined so many houses, temples, hospitals, and schools.

Office of the Basic Education Commission of Thailand found that at least 5 schools had been severely ruined from the earthquake in the district of Pan, Mae Lao, and Mae Saruay, Chiang Rai. Three of them were a secondary school under the secondary educational service area office 36 in Chiang Rai and Phayao (Mai Lao Vittiyakom School, Pan Pityakom School, and Mai Saruai Vittayakom), and the rests were a primary school under the secondary educational service area office 2 (Prong Prae Vittiya School and Ban Pa Kor Dam School). Five schools were severely ruined, including its structures and walls, partly. Some buildings either collapsed or subsided. In addition, there were around 30 schools that had been slightly and moderately affected by the earthquake. In Chiang Mai, 8 schools havealso been affected, includingRajamangala University of Technology Lanna. 

However, officials have been gearing up to explore and restore, as a next semester is about to start. 

Quality Learning Foundation and Teaja will take part to help schools by raising fund to buy educational equipment and restore schools.
