112-community art centre is a community art centre, where amateur artists can organize exhibitions, and youth and other people can join activities and workshops.112 art centre is also aimed at participating of community, exchanging attitudes and cultures, and supporting That artists and Thai young artists. 
 
I am "Wattanai Chanakot" and I studied public arts. I believe that arts can create conversation we need and can bring people to join. I have lived in Ladprao 112 because my aunt Nattanun Chanakot has opened a small restaurant in soi Ladprao 112. I know several children and people in this area and find them interesting because people living here came from different backgrounds and cultures. There are also many people from Isarn working in Bangkok, students from south of Thailand studying at Ramkhamhaeng University, American people teaching English, Cameroonian footballers, and Muslim Families. 
 
But people in this community do not have a chance to use arts because they work all day long and do not have time. In addition, other art centres are located too far from where they live, and the arts itself is hard to understand.  
 
“I think we should have a community art centre in soi Ladprao 112, accessible and supporting people to participate and share ideas. I already asked my aunt (she said yes) to use some space of his restaurant to organize an exhibition because this restaurant is a meeting point in this community. We want to use arts to ignite conversation and create more areas for exchanging among people in this community because everyone has interesting ideas, beliefs and attitudes.
 
“I want to run a 112 art centre as an area for exhibitions and other activities such as free classic movie screenings which we can talk, analyze, criticize, and have a workshop. The first event that will take place is a photography and video workshop, and we will invite some experts to join and share their professional skills with other people."
 
This art centre will not only encourage people to understand and fascinate to arts but also create a common ground among people having different backgrounds.

ประโยชน์ของโครงการ :

Singing Bergjon, Sweden

In Sweden, Singing Bergjon was doing an activity with children. 
 
  • We want to give an opportunity to youth and new artists to display their works selected by people in this community and drawing lots. Also, we can support an art industry in Thailand.
  • We want to support exchanging artistic knowledge, thinking out of the box, urging youth to think creatively, and giving an opportunity to youth to show their works and study with professional artists.
  • We want to support people in this community to get involved in which they can select artworks for displaying, take part as an expert or student in any workshop, and give any comment.

กิจกรรมที่จะดำเนินโครงการ :

1.Clean wall, light, and banner. (If we have enough budget, we will buy a projector.)
2.Invite art and photographic experts, attendees from Islam Santichon school, Bangkok school, Bordindecha school, and other people.
3.Organize a workshop and exhibition and invite press and other people to attend this activity.
4.Make a book (collected artworks)
5.Prepare an exhibition subject to change in every month and an activity such as Movie Night and a workshop with children from Chonburi.

Wattanai Chanakot (Oak) is an independent artist producing Installation art, VDO, and performing arts. He is a artist focusing on human rights and pride and has experiences of working with youth and immigrants about arts. He is also interested in a surreal film and urban planning.
