Last year, we collectively support 122 disadvantaged students in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai – the bottom three provinces in term of average household income per month (NSO, 2016) - to continue their secondary school education. Our students, 84 female and 38 male, have just started their second semester of Mathayom 1 last month. They enroll in 40 schools across 35 districts, eager to learn and thankful for this opportunity.

Over 600,000 students in Thailand drop out of school every year as a result of lack of resources. Without finishing secondary school, their chances to have decent job opportunities are limited.
The Thai Young Philanthropist Network, Yuvabadhana Foundation and Taejai.com join hands to take up the challenge of fighting inequality in the poorest areas of Thailand.
We provide scholarships to the least privileged children and allow them to complete
the first three years of secondary school.
It is during these defining years that children acquire the foundational skills necessary to pursue vocational school or higher education, obtain decent jobs, and achieve greater life opportunities
We work closely with schools in the rural areas of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai, Thailand’s three provinces with the lowest average household income. We thereby identifies the students who are not able to pursue secondary school without scholarship.
Tuition fee for secondary school education in Thailand is currently subsidised by the government. However, this is insufficient to ensure that the poorest students can pay for all hidden costs associated with schooling – including for transportation, textbooks, uniforms, food. This leads to a significant number of children dropping out of school every year.
The scholarships we provide are vital to enable the students to complete their education and expand their life opportunities.
As part of our scholarship programme, we accompany the supported students throughout their 3-years long secondary school journey, monitor progress and provide them with ongoing mentoring support to maximise the positive impact on their lives.

ในฐานะที่ดิฉันเคยได้รับโอกาสในชีวิตด้วยการรับทุนการศึกษาจากหลายองค์กรทำให้ ดิฉันตระหนักดีว่า ทุนการศึกษา ได้เปิดโอกาสในชีวิตของดิฉันอย่างมากมาย ทำให้ดิฉันมีการพัฒนาตนเอง และมีความรู้ที่สามารถนำมาใช้ประกอบวิชาชีพ รวมถึงเปิดโลกทัศน์ให้ดิฉันมีโอกาสได้ค้นพบและทำในสิ่งที่ตนเองชอบและถนัด
ในคราวใดๆที่มีโอกาส ดิฉันจึงต้องการที่จะส่งต่อโอกาสในการศึกษา ซึ่งจะเป็นพื้นฐานที่สำคัญในการทำให้น้องๆเยาวชน เติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่ที่มีคุณภาพของประเทศชาติต่อไป ดังเช่นที่ตัวดิฉันเองเคยได้รับโอกาสมา
ความเอื้อเฟื้อต่อเด็กคนหนึ่งที่เราอาจไม่เคยรู้จัก และความหวังว่าเขาจะมีชีวิตที่ดีขึ้นเพื่อสร้างประโยชน์ให้สังคมและประเทศชาติ
ดิฉันเป็นคนหนึ่งที่ได้รับทุนตั้งแต่เป็นนักเรียนม.ปลายจนถึงปริญญาโท เป็นโอกาสที่เปลี่ยนแปลงชีวิตของดิฉันและหล่อหลอมให้ดิฉันอยากตอบแทนโอกาสนี้โดยการทำงานเพื่อสังคม การได้ทุนไปศึกษาต่อต่างประเทศทำให้ดิฉันเห็นโลกที่กว้างขึ้นและทำให้เชื่อว่าเราสามารถสร้างความเท่าเทียมกันได้เช่นเดียวกับประเทศอื่นๆ
สำหรับผมการศึกษาที่มอบให้เด็ก แม้มันอาจเป็นจำนวนเงินไม่มาก หรือช่วยเด็กได้แค่ไม่กี่คน แต่ผมรู้ว่าวันนี้ผมได้เริ่มจากตัวผมเองที่ได้ให้โอกาสคนอื่น ผมอยากช่วยเมืองไทยแล้ววันนี้ผมก็ไม่ได้หยุดที่แค่คำพูด แต่ผมทำให้อีกหลายคนมีโอกาสที่เขาจะโตขึ้นไปเป็นคนที่มีศักยภาพ
ผมได้ให้โอกาสคนที่ไม่มีทางเลือกทำให้เขาสามารถยืนหยัดและเลือกทางเดินที่เขาจะเดินได้เอง และผมก็เชื่อมั่นว่าเด็กเหล่านี้ จะกลายเป็นคนที่มีกำลังไปพัฒนาสังคมเราต่อไปในอนาคต
ถ้าเราอยากเห็นเมืองไทยพัฒนา เราต้องไม่หยุดที่แค่คำพูด เรามาเริ่มจากเราเองโดยการให้โอกาสกับเด็กที่ไร้โอกาสกันเถอะครับ
